The Soul 170C is engineered around world-class Tungsol and Mullard tubes, with a bespoke design tailored to fully harness the exceptional qualities of these remarkable valves. This all-tube preamplifier employs specialized 17AX4GT tube rectifiers for the power supply, while hand-selected 6CA7EH tubes manage the voltage regulation. For line amplification, Mullard CV4004/12AX7 and Tungsol 6SN7GTB tubes are utilized.
In keeping with Cayin's exacting design principles, the Soul 170C incorporates two Negative Feedback (NFB) settings—High and Low—allowing users to fine-tune the tonal characteristics of the amplifier to their preferences.
The Soul 170C offers four pairs of RCA line inputs and one pair of balanced XLR inputs, making it highly versatile and easy to integrate into any existing audio system. It also features one pair of RCA outputs and one pair of balanced XLR outputs, ensuring high-performance connectivity for seamless system integration.
The amplifier is housed in a beautifully crafted anodized solid aluminum front panel, complemented by a fully vented chassis for a luxurious finish. Like all Cayin products, the Soul 170C is built with point-to-point wiring, where the entire circuit (including the signal path) is painstakingly hand-wired using heavy-gauge cable by skilled audio craftsmen.
To ensure longevity and protect sensitive components, the Soul 170C features a custom soft-start circuit and high-voltage delay configuration. Premium components are used throughout the design, including:

Output transformers play a crucial role in any tube amplifier, directly influencing bass response and high-frequency extension. With Cayin's in-house designed output transformers, meticulously wound and over-engineered, the Soul 170C’s performance is optimized to unlock its full potential. These custom transformers feature a multi-layer winding with multiple impedances to perfectly match the amplifier's load, resulting in a more balanced, natural, and realistic sound across the entire audio spectrum.
The Soul 170C is powered by a custom-designed toroidal transformer, providing ultra-stable power and remarkably low hum, ensuring super-reliable performance and exceptional control.
The amplifier comes standard with a full-function aluminum remote control and has the capability to memorize the last setting after being powered off, offering added convenience for the user.
