A Montreal lawyer, Douglas acts on behalf of domestic and international clients in a broad range of commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing and product distribution both inside of Canada and internationally.
Given his experience at the international level, Douglas oversees the firm’s relations outside of Quebec with the USLAW Network, an international network of law firms of which the firm is a member and which it uses to service its clients’ needs outside of Quebec. Douglas has been a member of the Board of Directors of USLAW Network since 2018. He is also a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and previously acted as the Programs Vice-Chair of the Energy Markets Finance Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.
Douglas is Vice-President and a member of the board of Edilex, a legal technology company that produces software solutions for RFPs and automated documents. Perfectly bilingual, Douglas is a skilled negotiator with a diverse legal background. His clients especially appreciate his calm demeanour and practical advice.
Finally, Douglas serves his community as the president of the Foundation of the local health authority where he lives, the Fondation Santé du Haut-Richelieu-Rouville.

Professional activities
I represented the seller in one of the most important transactions involving the sale of offsets on the Quebec/California common carbon market. I have also advised an American multinational company with regard to its acquisition of a project to reduce gas emissions in Salvador, owned by a Quebec company.
